When I was a Child
When I was a child, I had a dream that I was "baptized" by Jesus. It is still very vivid in my mind, I believe, because it was the first dream I ever remember in color. My early life seemed very black and white at the time. Those colors became etched in my mind as colors only worn by the God of my childhood.
The colors of the robe Jesus wore in the dream were very similar to those depicted and worn by President Trump in the meme posted by the President. I am assuming that is the reason I felt so angry when I first saw the meme.
Reflecting on my "automatic anger" at the sight of him wearing a similar robe and thinking damn — he, in his maniacal, narcissistic mind, actually thinks of himself as Godlike. And then, we really cannot keep someone in office who thinks like that.
I then looked back at how as a state official I tried to follow laws and govern. I look at Religion as a private matter and not a part of civil governance. And that churches are voluntary associations. With no religious coercion by the state, for any religious sect or church, the government should only deal with civil matters.
Like John Locke, I believe governance is a contract between elected officials and the governed, one where duties are spelled out in the description of the office, and with its limitations. Government is not absolute. It is limited to the public good and must follow established laws.
To favor any religion or church is a violation of an elected official's oath and depicting the president as Jesus is a reason to proceed legally to remove him from a civil office.
