“Roads Once Traveled”

I’ve traveled many roads over life’s vast lands

Now as I look back with wonder and recollect just where I’ve been

Some roads were short, some roads were long

Some I turned right, others oh so wrong

Some were so winding, some were so straight

One I took too early, others way too late

Refrain:

Oh the things I’ve seen and oh the things I’ve done

Of some I’m so proud, from others I run

But I smelled the roses and I drank the wine

I took each road, one road at a time

Verse:

I traveled all alone, seldom knowing my destination

Why was the road less traveled, the one always taken

Looking back, how many times I've found

I was on the wrong road, not sure where I was bound

Or what new direction then I must go

To make the correction and find the right road

Refrain:

Oh the things I’ve seen and oh the things I’ve done

Of some I’m so proud, from others I run

But I smelled the roses and I drank the wine

I took each road, one road at a time

Verse:

Now as I look back at life’s winding course

I gaze with some pride and just a little remorse

To people I’ve touched and wonders I’ve seen

If we only go around once, oh what a road it’s been

Refrain:

Oh the things I’ve seen and oh the things I’ve done

Of some I’m so proud, from others I run

But I smelled the roses and I drank the wine

I took each road, one road at a time

Bridge:

Where my journey may end, I am sure I don’t know

But until then, I'll keep on traveling, for who knows,

Is there a dream, or a dead end sign, at the end of the road....
